Basilio Rendon Sr.'s Obituary
A Catholic Funeral Mass was celebrated for Basilio Rendon, Sr., age 85 of Lamesa,Texas at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 20, 2014 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with Father Joseph Kurumbel officiating. Burial followed to Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home of Lamesa, Texas.
Rosary services were held on Saturday and Sunday at 7:00 p.m. at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel.
Mr. Rendon passed away surrounded by his loving family at his residence on Friday, October 17, 2014. He was born on June 14, 1929 in Rossville, Texas. He married Josefina Iglesias on June 4, 1949 in Lamesa. Basilio was a retired cotton ginner.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Josefina Rendon, son, Eswardo Rendon; daughter, Irma Rendon; grandson, Basilio Rendo; great-grandson, Jorge Casarez; parents, Roman and Petra Felan Rendon; brothers, Rigoberto Rendon, Jose Maria Rendon; sisters, Petra Lopez, Manuela Uribe, Micaela Rodriguez.
Survivors include, his daughter, Candida Casarez and husband, Juan of Seminole, Texas; his sons, Basilio Rendon, Sr. of Mission, Texas, Domingo Rendon and wife, Ines of Lamesa, Texas, Benjamin Rendon and wife, Elia of Lamesa, Texas; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-eight gret-grand children; one great-great-grandchild.
