AURORA YBARRA's Obituary
Funeral services for Aurora Ybarra age 85 of Lamesa, TX., will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jeremiah Aguayo officiating. Burial committal will follow to the Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the trusted care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home.
Family visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Gonzales Funeral Home.
Aurora passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, June 1, 2024, in Lamesa, TX. She was born on December 16, 1938, in Odem, TX. Aurora married Santos Ybarra in 1966 in Lamesa, TX.
Aurora was preceded in death by her husband, Santos Ybarra on December 17, 2020; her father, Pete Salazar, and her mother, Reina Moreno Salazar; brothers, Adam Salazar, and Ray Salazar, Sr.; sisters, Eva Echavarria, Sandy Quintana, Diamantia Munoz, and Ernestina Hernandez.
Aurora loved ceramics and quilting. “Little House on the Prairie” was her favorite TV show. She always loved doing everything hand in hand with her beloved husband Santos Ybarra. Aurora was a faithful member of the Second Street Baptist Church.
Aurora is survived by her daughter, Yvonne Ybarra of Lamesa, TX.; her granddaughter, Sarah Marquez of Brownfield, TX.; her great-granddaughter, Cecilia Aurora Rosales of Brownfield, TX.; her sisters, Elsa Cooper of Lockney, TX., and Gloria Vera of Lamesa, TX.; numerous nephews and nieces that she loved very much.
