ANITA R. ORTIZ's Obituary
A Catholic funeral mass of christian burial will be celebrated for Anita R. Ortiz age 71 of Lamesa, Texas at 2:00 p.m. Saturday February 9, 2019 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with Rev. John Steven Rathinam officiating. Interment will follow to Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home of Lamesa, Texas.
Viewing will be held on Thursday and Friday with Rosary prayer services at 7:00 p.m. at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel.
Anita passed away on Tuesday February 5, 2019 in Lubbock, Texas. She was born on January 26, 1948 in Lamesa. Anita married Armando Ortiz on December 10, 1982 in Lamesa.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jesus S. Reyes.
Anita was a homemaker and loved to sew for the people. She was charismatic and a member of the ACTS church movement and was a proud member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. At one time she worked at Annie's Mini Mart store.
Anita is survived by her loving family, her husband, Armando Ortiz of Lamesa; her mother, Genoveva V. Reyes, her brother, Tony Reyes, her sisters, Gloria Reyes and Elva Gutierrez, all of Lamesa; numerous nephews, nieces, great nices and nephews, and friends.
