ALBERT GONZALES's Obituary
A Catholic funeral mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Albert Gonzales age 61 of Lamesa, TX. at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with Father Martin Pena officiating Burial committal will follow to the Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the trusted care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home.
The viewing will be held at Gonzales Funeral Home on Thursday, December 12, 2024, until 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary prayer service at 7:00 p.m., and Friday, December 13, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary prayer service at 7:00 p.m.
Albert passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2024, in Ft. Worth, TX. surrounded by his amazing and loving family. He was born on October 26, 1963, in Laredo, TX. to Damacio and Maria Gonzales. He married the love of his life, Lisa Vargas on July 30, 1983, in Lamesa, TX. They were married for 41 years and created a memorable life together. Together they had 2 loving sons, Albert Gonzales, Jr. and John Paul Gonzales. Albert worked 19 years as a farmer for Frank Jones and the late Lyndell Brooks. In 1990 he went to work for his father-in-law, the late Raymond Vargas, Sr. at Lamesa Tire and Battery for at least 34 years of his life. He met so many people and many will remember him with a smile and walk as they honked on by the shop to greet him. During his leisure time he enjoyed going to the Casino and watching the Dallas Cowboys his favorite team with his family on the weekends. His pride and joy were his grandkids. He loved following and attending all of their special occasions and events. Albert was a true example of a loving and giving man and never knew a stranger. He was a devoted member of the St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church for many years.
Albert is survived by his wife, Lisa Gonzales of Lamesa, TX.; children, Albert Gonzales, Jr. and wife Jessica Gonzales of Lamesa, TX., and John Paul Gonzales of Lamesa, TX.; grandchildren, Jake, Celeste, Jaxon, Marley, Luke, and Matthew Gonzales, all of Lamesa, TX.; brother Mario Gonzales of Kyle, TX.; sister Susie Garza of Lamesa, TX.
Albert was preceded in death by his parents, Damacio and Maria Gonzales; brothers, Freddy Gonzales, Damacio Gonzales, Jr., and Gilbert Gonzales, Sr.; sister Amelia Alonzo.
Albert will be carried to his final resting place by his pallbearers, J.R. Ortegon, J.P. Ortegon, Victor Garza, Danny Gonzales, Israel Gonzales, Brandon Mitchell, and honorary pallbearer Jake Gonzales.
