ABELINO LUERA's Obituary
Funeral services in remembrance of the life of Abelino Luera, age 77 of Brownfield, TX. will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Gonzales Funeral Home with Pastor Lupe Trevino officiating. The burial committal will follow to the Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the trusted care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home.
The viewing and visitation will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025, at Gonzales Funeral Home from 9:0 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.
Abelino passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, in Lubbock, TX. He was born on June 15, 1947, in Yorktown, TX. Abelino married Julia Sanchez on September 15, 1990, in O’Donnell, TX.
Abelino was preceded in death by his wife, Julia Luera; parents, Jose and Ambrosia Luera; his son, Marvin Luera, and his daughter-in-law, Erica Luera; his grand-daughter, Samantha Luera; brothers, Victor Luera, and Alvino Luera.
Abelino was a professional truck driver all of his life. He was a devoted Christian man. Albino would always be reading his Bible and praising the Lord. He was also an avid gardener; in fact, his yard would always get compliments from everyone who passed by. He enjoyed taking care of his yard. Abelino would offer to pray over people.
Abelino is survived by his sons, Joe (Joey) Luera of Lamesa, TX., Steve Luera (wife, Kelley) of Lamesa, TX., and Willie Villarreal (wife, Denise) of O’Donnell, TX.; his daughters, Melissa Russel of Lamesa, TX., and Crystal Green (husband, Michael) of Brownfield, TX.; his sisters, Porfiria Hernandez (husband, Fidel) of Lamesa, TX., Paul Rios of Yorktown, TX., and Magi Perez of Yorktown, TX.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and several relatives and friends.
