Chapel Funeral services for Abelardo (Lalo) Saenz, age 85 of Lamesa, TX. will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at Gonzales Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Lopez officiating. The burial committal follow to the Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home of Lamesa, TX.
Viewing will be held on Tuesday starting at 11:00 am., with a Rosary prayer service at 1:30 p.m., followed with the chapel funeral service.
Lalo passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2019 in Lamesa, TX. He was born on October 16, 1934 in Cuero, TX. Lalo married Carmen Olvera in 1954 in Lamesa, TX.
Lalo was preceded in death his wife, Carmen Olvera Saenz; his parents, Joe and Maria De Jesus Saenz; sister, Carolina Ramos; brothers, Rudolpho Saenz, Ruben Saenz, and Manuel Saenz.
Lalo was a carpenter by trade.
Survivors include, his children, sons, John (Mariza) Saenz of San Antonio, TX., Gary (Dolores) Saenz of San Antonio, TX., daughters, Carolina (Arthur) Garza of Lamesa, TX., Jessica Curiel of Lubbock, TX., Tammy (Philip)Lopez of Tulia, TX., and Dixie Saenz of Lubbock, TX.; 14 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; numerous relatives and friends.
