Family and friends will gather for a Memorial Service for Abel Alvarado, Sr. at Gonzales Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, starting at 11:00 a.m. Funeral arrangements are under the trusted care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home.
After the Memorial Service, dinner will be served at the Kingdom Culture Church located at 1013 N. 2nd Street.
Abel age 60 of Lamesa, TX., passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2023, at home surrounded by loving family. Born in Lubbock, TX. on November 25, 1963, to Juan Antonio and Ignacia Alvarado. He was a lifelong carpenter, and he loved his grandchildren. His passion was fishing, playing pool and making others laugh.
Able is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Juan Antonio Jr. Alvarado, Pete Alvarado, Sr., and Abel Alvarado of Lamesa, TX. Sister, Lupe Lopez of Lubbock, TX. Grandson, Michael Puga (Kerrville).
He is survived by his daughter Vanessa Alvarado of Kerrville, TX., and son Abel Alvarado, Jr. (Leeann) of Midland, TX. Grandchildren, Jeter Marquez and Eddic Esparza of Kerrville, TX. and Ember Alvarado of Midland, TX. Sisters, Maggie Salazar (Jose), Juanita Alaniz (Pablo) and Isabel Alonzo, all of Lamesa, TX., Tina Olivarez (the late Roque Olivarez) of Dallas, TX., Susie Garcia (Ruben Sandoval) of Lubbock, TX. Brothers, Alberto Alvarado (Belinda) of Lamesa, TX., Teodolo Alvarado (the late Adela) of Smily, TX., Alfredo Alvarado (Evelyn) of San Angelo, TX.; numerous relatives and friends.
