MADALENO GONZALES JR.'s Obituary
A Catholic funeral mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Madaleno Gonzales, Jr. age 73 of Lamesa, TX. at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with Father Sylvester Osouza officiating. The burial committal will follow to the Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the trusted care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home.
The viewing will be held at Gonzales Funeral Home on Friday, January 2, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary prayer service starting at 7:00 p.m. at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel.
Madaleno passed away peacefully at his home in Lamesa, TX. surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, December 30, 2025. He was born on November 7, 1952, in Lamesa, TX. Madaleno married Amanda Hernandez in May of 1975, in Lamesa, TX.
Madaleno was preceded in death by his wife, Amanda Hernandez Gonzales; his son, Gilbert Gonzales; his father, Madaleno Gonzales, Sr., and his mother, Inez Y. Gonzales; his sisters, Irma Gonzales, and Esparanza Magallan; his brother-in-law, Genero Gutierrez, and Sam Lopez.
Madaleno loved being around family and hosting cookouts. He enjoyed traveling with his grand kids and making fun and crazy memories. He sure did enjoy his music, dancing, and Margaritas.
Madaleno is survived by his daughters, Jolanda Gonzales of Lamesa, TX., and Laura Hernandez and son-in-law, Gary Hernandez of Lamesa, TX.; his grandson, Gilbert Hernandez of Lamesa, TX.; his granddaughters, Amanda Hernandez of Kyle, TX., and Ariseli Hernandez of Kyle, TX.; his brothers, Jesse Gonzales and sister in-law Janie Gonzales of Lamesa, TX., and Pete Gonzales and sister-in-law, Julia Gonzales of Lamesa, TX., and Benny Gonzales and sister-in-law Esther Gonzales of Lamesa, TX.; his sisters, Angie Gutierrez, and Nieves Lopez.; 3 grandchildren; numerous relatives and friends.
