REGINA (GINA) HERNANDEZ

Funeral services for Regina (Gina) Hernandez age 45 of Lamesa, TX. will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 1, 2022 at the CWJC facility located at 1013 N. 2nd Street with Pastors, Jeremiah Aguayo and Rachel Hernandez officiating. Burial committal will follow to the Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral service arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home. Viewing and visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 30, 2021, and Friday, December 31, 202, with Inspirational services staring at 7:00 p.m. at Gonzales Funeral Home. Gina passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2021 in Lamesa, TX. She was born on July 28, 1976 in Lamesa, TX. Gina and John Diaz joined together on April 25, 2003 to begin a new family life together with their children. Gina is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Gregorio and Julia Hernandez, her maternal grandparents, Esteban and Eluteria Hernandez; her great-niece, Rae’Lynn. Gina will be remembered as a caring and loving person. She would always stop and make time for anyone she came across. If someone was having not such a good day, Gina would surely brighten up anyone’s day with her unique personality and captivating smile. Gina was the kind of person that always put everyone else first. Gina was very close to her parents, and she loved her siblings very much. Gina could be counted on at any minute to help with anything, never asking what’s in it for her. She was a dedicated and caring mother and grandmother and enjoyed attending her grandkids sporting events, especially outdoor activities. Gina was a diehard Judge Judy watcher. She would watch Judge Judy 24/7, sometimes falling asleep watching her favorite TV show on her phone. She also loved watching football and cheer for Texas Tech as her loving husband John cheered for the Texas Longhorns. They enjoyed the rivalry and Gina love to jump and cheer for her team. Gina enjoyed eating warm glazed donuts while drinking a Dr. Pepper with lot of ice. Gina will be dearly missed by so many, especially her loving children, Timothy and Viviana which she adored and loved so much and her husband John. Gina worked at Walmart for many years, then at KFC, Good Morning Donuts, and was last employed with Gebo’s. Gina is survived by her husband, John Diaz of Lamesa, TX.; her son, Timothy Flores (Samantha), and her daughter, Viviana Flores (Nathaniel) all of Lamesa, TX.; her step-daughters, Natalie Diaz, and Alexandria Diaz, both of Lamesa, TX.; her parents, Ruben and Geneva Hernandez of Lamesa, TX.; her grandchildren, Serenity, Ayden, Kyle, and Alazaye, all of Lamesa, TX.; her sisters, Rebeca Gonzales (Bernardo), Ruth Hernandez, Rhoda Casarez, all of Lamesa, TX.; her brother, Esteban Hernandez (Michelle) of Omaha, NE; her nieces and nephews, Miranda, Nathan, Mariela, Noel, Rueban Ray, Emma, James, Amiah, Dominique, Alex, Derrick; her great-niece, Mia; numerous relatives, and friends.
