A Catholic graveside service of Christian burial for Maria Perez age 89 of Lamesa, TX., will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at the Dawson County Cemetery with Fr. Chacko Thadathil officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home. Maria passed away on Friday, October 1, 2021 in Lamesa, TX She was born on June 2, 1932 in New Braunfels, TX. Maria married Ruben Perez of June 26, 1971 in Lamesa, TX. Viewing and visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., on Monday, October 4, 2021 and on Tuesday, October 6, 2021 Gonzales Funeral Home with a Rosary prayer service on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. Maria was preceded in death by husband, Ruben Perez; her parents, Jose and Elvira Rivera; her son, Jose Perez; her brothers, Alfredo Rivera, Alberto Rivera, Ruben Rivera; her sisters, Lupe Rodriguez, Lucia Moreno, Carolina Vasquez, Josefina Lopez, Margarita Perez, Elvira Galindo, and Elosia Perez. Maria enjoyed being with her family, watching her favorite TV shows, sewing and, gardening. Maria was a member of the Catholic Church. Maria is survived by her son, Gilbert Perez (Tanya) of Lamesa, TX.; her daughters, Julia Lopez (Joe), Diana Perez, and Norma Perez, all of Lamesa, TX.; her brother, John Rivera of Lamesa, TX.; her sister, Beatrice Garza of Lamesa, TX.; 14 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren; several relatives and friends.
