    MARCO ANTONIO (TONY) CARDOZA

    December 7, 1966 - May 18, 2019

    A funeral mass will be celebrated for Marco Antonio (Tony) Cardoza age 52 of Hobbs, New Mexico, and formerly of Lamesa, Texas at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with Father Joseph Kurumbel officiating. The burial committal service will follow to the Dawson County Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home of Lamesa, Texas. Viewing will be held Monday, May 20, 2019 and Tuesday, May 21, 2019 with a Rosary prayer service on Tuesday starting at 7:00 p.m. at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel. Tony passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2019 in Lubbock, Texas. He was born on December 7, 1966 in Mexico. Tony and Irene Gomez started at new family life together on August 21, 2007 in Hobbs, NM. He was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio Cardoza and Ignacia Cardoza; his brother, Adan Cardoza; his sister, Eva Gurrola. Tony was a farmer. He enjoyed working on motor vehicles, loved to Bar-B-Que with his family and spending as much time as he could with his gandchildren and nephews. Tony is survived by his wife, Irene Gomez of Hobbs, NM; his daughters, Amanda Cardoza and Erica Cardoza, both of Lamesa,Texas Adrianna Nicole Gomez and Lucrecia Ly'Ann Gomez, both of San Angelo, Texas; his sons, Rudolpho Salinas, Jr. of San Angelo, Texas, and Roger R. Salinas of Hobbs, NM; his brothers, Ignacio Cardoza and wife, Maria Cardoza of Mexico, and Ruben Cardoza and wife, Ramona Cardoza of Lamesa, Texas; his sisters, Yolanda Tapia and husband, Alfredo Tapia of El Paso, Texas, Irma Castro of Hobbs, NM, and Teresa Fraire of Lamesa, Texas; his grandchildren, Braydon Navarro, Juan Antonio Gomez Cabrera, Rudolpho Miguel Gomez, Estrella Salinas, and Natalia Irene Martinez. Pallbearers, Jacob Martinez, Anjel Flores, Ruben Cardoza, Jr., Gerardo Cardoza, Alberto Gurrola, and Marco Antonio Salinas.
