Elias Maldonado

Funeral services for Elias Maldonado, age 81, of Lamesa, Texas, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 14, 2014 at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel with Leonard Macias officiating. Interment will follow at Seagraves Cemetery in Seagraves, Texas. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home of Lamesa, Texas. Mr. Maldonado died on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at his residence in Lamesa. He was born on April 19, 1933 in Seguin, Texas. He married Patsy Tapia on June 4, 1986. He was a truck driver and farmer. He loved fishing, raising animals, and spending time with family and friends. He was a firm believer in God. Preceding him in death were his sons, Elias Maldonado, Jr., Roy Maldonado and Raul Maldonado; brothers, Daniel Maldonado, Eliseo Maldonado and Efrain Maldonado; a sister, Frances Rodriguez; and parents, Maria and Francisco Maldonado. Survivors include his sons, Joe Maldonado and Javiel Tristan, both of Lamesa, Joe Tristan of Del Rio, Texas, Francisco Maldonado of San Antonio, Texas, Raymond Maldonado and Eliseo Maldonado, both of Lamesa; daughters, Melanie Maldonado, Mary Garcia, Janie Lozano, all of Lamesa, Delores Santos of San Antonio, TexasAlice Macias of Seguin, Texas, Dalia Tristan of Austin, Texas and Julie Cuevas of San Antonio, Texas; sisters, Lidia Dawson of Lubbock, Texas, Linda Trejo and Racheal Deleon, both of Fresno, California; a brother, Bobby Maldonado of Colorado; 56 grandchildren; 103 great-grandchildren; and 7 seven great-great-grandchildren.
