    Clearance Calloway Sr.

    February 12, 1924 - October 12, 2015

    Funeral services for Clarence Calloway, Sr., age 91 of Lamesa, Texas are set for 2:00 p.m. today, Friday, October 16, 2015 at the Johson Memorial COGIC in Lamesa with Superintendent-Pastor J.E. Evans officiating, along with Rev. Jackie Jerome Johnson, Sr. Burial will follow to Lamesa Memorial Park. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Gonzales Funeral Home of Lamesa, Texas. Viewing was held on Thursday with family visitation hour from 7:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Calloway died on Monday, October 12, 2015 at his residence in Lamesa. He was born on February 12, 1924 in Longview, Texas. His family moved to Lamesa during those early years and he met Corine Bolton and they married on May c6, 1944 in Lamesa, Mr, Calloway worked at the Lamesa Cotton Oil Mill until his retirement. Preceded Clarence in death were, his wife, Corine Calloway; his daughter, Sally Calloway; his sons, Arthur Calloway, Willie Calloway; his parents, Robert and Louella Calloway. Mr. Calloway is survived by his family, his three sons, Clarence Calloway, Jr. and Robert Lee Calloway, both of Lamesa, Johnny Lee Calloway of Lubbock, Texas; his four daughters, Lorine Scott and Jimmy of Casa Grande, AZ, Ima Jean Martendeal and Jerry of Lubbock, Texas, Kathlean Calloway of Lamesa, Gwen Dane and James of Lamesa; his brother Richard Calloway of Odessa, Texas; his three sisters, Josephine Brown of Albuueque, NM, Katherine Alexander of Lubbock, Texas, Annie Pearl Stevens of Lubbock, Texas; considered by the family as sisters are, Etter B. Williams of Austin, Texas, Ethel McGruder of Midland, Texas, Pearl Ester Manuel of Lamesa, Texas; 60 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren.
